This Privacy Notice explains how LovingKindFaith ("we", "us", "our"), trading as LovedbyHim, collects and uses personal data when you use the LovedbyHim app and website (the "Service"). LovingKindFaith is the data controller for personal data processed through the Service.

1. Personal data we collect

  • Account data: email address, display name, hashed authentication credentials.
  • User content: Bible notes, prayer journal entries, reflections, daily rhythms, dream posts, and chat messages you create.
  • Usage & device data: IP address, browser type, device identifiers, pages viewed, and interactions with the Service.
  • Support communications: messages you send us for help or feedback.
  • Purchase data: order confirmations and billing metadata we receive from Stripe, our payment processor. Card details are collected by Stripe, not by us.

2. How we use personal data

  • To create and secure your account (legal basis: performance of a contract).
  • To provide the Service and store your content (legal basis: performance of a contract).
  • To prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents (legal basis: legitimate interests).
  • To improve the Service and fix bugs (legal basis: legitimate interests).
  • To respond to support requests (legal basis: legitimate interests).
  • To comply with legal obligations, including tax and accounting rules (legal basis: legal obligation).

3. Who we share personal data with

  • Stripe, our payment processor. Stripe processes payments, verifies card details, calculates applicable tax, and returns order metadata to us. Stripe's use of your data is governed by its own privacy policy.
  • Hosting & infrastructure providers, used to host the Service and store your data securely.
  • Professional advisers, accountants and legal advisers where necessary.
  • Authorities, where required by law, court order, or to protect our rights.

4. International transfers

Where your data is transferred outside your country of residence (including outside the UK/EEA), we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses and adequacy decisions.

5. Data retention

We keep account and content data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account (from Account settings), your profile and associated data are removed within 30 days, except where we must retain records for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention purposes.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access, correct, or erase your personal data.
  • Restrict or object to processing.
  • Data portability.
  • Withdraw consent (where processing is based on consent).
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

To exercise these rights, reach us through the Community page inside the app. We respond within one month.

7. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit, access controls, and row-level authorization, to protect personal data. No system is 100% secure, but we work to keep yours safe.

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences. We do not use advertising cookies.
